Wishing ewe a merry Christmas!
Fancy treating yourself to unique Christmas present which is also the perfect souvenir of Liverpool’s special green year?
Liverpool City Council has created 35 limited edition, lamb-size, green Superlambananas. They are helping celebrate a fantastic environmentally-friendly year across the region.
Emblazoned with the Year of the Environment motif, and of course using environmentally friendly paint, they will soon become prized collector’s items.
Each superlambanana costs £250 and, due to the massive demand for the icons, anyone who wants to buy one of these unique Lambies must register an interest first with The 08 Place or the Year of the Environment team.
All expressions of interest must be received by midday, Wednesday 16 December and the lucky 35 will then be drawn out of a hat.
The city council’s executive member for the environment, Councillor Turner said: “In June 500 desk-top sized lambs went on sale and they flew off the shelves!
“From speaking to colleagues in The 08 Place we know there is a huge amount of demand for the larger lambs, and as we only have 35 to sell it makes sense that we do it ballot-style so it’s fair.
“This year has been a fantastic success – community groups, visitors and schools across the region have got involved and thousands of people have signed up to become green ambassadors, pledging to do something to tackle the issue of climate change.
“These lamb-sized superlambananas are the perfect souvenirs of the year, and hopefully will act as a constant reminder to the 35 lucky people who get to buy them to be as environmentally friendly as possible!”
