Pimp your pumps!

Young people in South Liverpool can come along to a day-long fun-packed event and pimp a pair of pumps for free.

On Tuesday 26th May starting 10am a whole raft of activities will be taking place on the land behind Berkley Square in Liverpool 8.

Families can come along and meet with other people from their community in a fun environment and enjoy tons of free entertainment including a free pair of plain white pumps that can be ‘pimped’ to your own custom made unique design.

The event funded by South Central Neighbourhood Services forms part of the city’s European Neighbours’ Day celebrations.

Councillor Marilyn Fielding, the city council’s executive member for safer, stronger communities, said: “It’s great news that Liverpool is embracing European Neighbours' Day. Developing good relations with your neighbours is an important part of making our communities a safer, happier place to live.

“This event will be a great opportunity for people to get to know their fellow residents, celebrate the importance of community life and most important of all – have fun.”

Families will be able to enjoy face-painting, music, a climbing wall and a free halal BBQ.

A range of environmental activities will also be taking place to coincide with the city’s Year of the Environment celebrations. Neighbourhood staff will also be giving out free fruit and vegetables plus 5-a-day information and advice.
