Make waste your business
Liverpool Chamber of Commerce is working in partnership with the Environment Agency and Liverpool City Council to assist businesses with their trade waste issues.
This free event is a Trade Fair bringing together the waste and recycling sectors so that businesses can find out about everything from their statutory obligations to how to generate energy from waste, or how to incorporate good waste management into their corporate social responsibility activities.
Maresa Molloy, the Chamber’s Head of Policy and Information explained: “We aim to inform businesses about the duty of care to the safe disposal of waste generated as part of their daily activities.
It will highlight the importance of maintaining correct documentation - such as trade waste agreements - and explore the various waste management options available. We will also provide an insight to new commercial opportunities arising from waste as a potential moneymaking resource.”
The event takes place on Wednesday 3rd March between 9:00am – 1:00pm at Blackburne House, Blackburne Place (off Hope Street), Liverpool. Leading waste industry specialists will be present at the fair including waste disposal companies, recycling firms, business support organisations, public agencies and advisory services. Each organisation will exhibit their information at stalls in the main hall and respond to any questions from visitors - so please drop-in and browse the various services available to your business today. No booking is required to attend the Fair and members of the public and businesses are all invited to come along.
The fair will also feature an information seminar at which delegates will hear from the Environment Agency, Liverpool City Council, Groundwork Merseyside and a leading commercial organisation on policy, legislation, opportunities and support available to businesses in managing their trade waste. The seminar is free-of-charge but as places are limited, please ensure that you book a place via the Chamber’s website here.
