Food and farming in the future
Patrick Holden, organic food expert and Director of the Soil Association, will be in West Kirby at 8pm on Wednesday 25 November to talk about how local food networks can help us meet the challenges of food security, climate change and rising energy costs.
With so much of our food in North West England now trucked in from hundreds of miles away, how will we cope when these imports are less reliable and more expensive? Better local relationships between food producers and consumers will be part of the answer, creating stronger local economies and more sustainable, environmentally-friendly food.
Everyone with an interest is invited to come and join in the discussion with Patrick at Westbourne Hall, Westbourne Rd, West Kirby, Wirral. CH48 4DQ.
Tickets are £3.50. You can get them in advance from West Kirby library, order by calling 0151 632 5366 or emailing ttwk.food@gmail.com, or at the door on the night.
